How to use Notepad

Access - How to access Notepad

File

Open - Open a new Notepad window

Save - How to save the current Notepad window (save under current file name. If it has not been saved it will function the same as the Save as feature below)

Save as - Allows you to choose the file in a location you choose and give it a name

Page Setup - Allows you to modify the following
-
Paper size - Sets the size of the paper to print on
-
Paper source - Choose the location of the paper tray the printer prints the file from
-
Orientation - set the file to Portrait or Landscape

Margins - adjust the margins of the file
-
Header - Create a Header in the text file
-
Footer - Can create a footer in the text file
-

Print - Allows you to print the text file.
-
Exit - Quits Notepad (if you have a file open that is not saved, it will ask you if you want to save it.

Edit

Undo - Allows you to undo the last entry you have made
-
Cut - Cuts the highlighted text from the document for you to paste elsewhere or discard

Copy - Copies the text you have highlighted into the clipboard for you to paste elsewhere

Paste - Pasts text that is saved in the clipboard into the text file
-
Delete - Allows deletion of character, words, paragraph or multiple paragraphs

Find - Finds a character, or word in the file
-
Find Next - allow you to find the next instance of a character, or word in the file

Replace - Allows you to find a replace a character, word or sentence in the file
-
Go to - Allows you to go to a specific place in the file
-
Select All - Select all text in the file
-
Time/Date - Allows you to insert the time and date into the the file

Format
View

Status Bar - Shows the location of the cursor. (The status bar will not work if Word Wrap is enabled)
